Deep into the mountainside overlooking Gardale, an ancient evil lies forgotten, but not quite dead.
Dark whispers seep out of its tomb, poisoning the minds of those unfortunate enough to live nearby so that one day, it might rise again.
Horvutdaan houses its fair share of restless dead that you would be wise to leave undisturbed.
In Druadach like in the rest of Tamriel, the Oblivion crisis left its mark. To this day, people honor the sacrifice of Lord Rolston II of Highreach, who entered the gate with his knights to save the valley.
Last month, I spoke about how the Longfangs are ready to do anything to ensure their survival. Today we peek at their foulest ritual: severing head from body while keeping both alive, and condemning the decapitated victim to serve their new Forsworn masters.
Deep underground, timeless magic stirs, beckoning the ambitious and the reckless alike. Who would be foolish enough to try and tame such power?
Accursed ruins, ungodly ritual sites and more abound in the valley. They serve as a macabre mockery of the bigger cities and the blissful lives they offer their citizens.
The valley has known its fair share of conflict, and many traces of ancient battles can still be observed.
Hags, shaman and witches harness the powers of nature and magic for the Reachman clans, casting hexes and enchantments to ensure the clan’s victory.
Arachnophobes beware! The creepy crawlies that haunt the caves of Skyrim have definitely found their way into the valley, sometimes prevailing over their mechanical counterparts.
Next month we’ll talk about Motte Malgorath, the Orcs, and the swamp south of Garshakur. For now however, enjoy another peek at the cursed revenants born of Ysgramor’s fateful foray into the valley. Particularly hard to put down, these undead are best obliterated with a gout of fire magic.
After they were routed in the Swamps, the rest of the Nord invaders retreated into a funerary complex that would later be known as Ysgramor’s Folly. There, the souls of the dead linger on. Burdened by sin. Ever-vengeful.
